VP, Director of Operations

Administers and coordinates the operations activities of the bank to achieve the strategic business objectives in an efficient and effective manner.
Develops and recommends objectives, policies, procedures, and solutions to lead change within the organization.
Oversees bank relationships with third party vendors and service providers to achieve strategic objectives.
Ensures compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
Core Responsibilities Coordinates, negotiates, and administers core system and ancillary vendor, outsourcer and consultant contracts and service agreements to ensure performance standards are met, contractual requirements are carried out, and any identified problems and enhancements are resolved efficiently and effectively.
Ensures compliance to the bank's policies, legal and government rules, and regulations by establishing, monitoring, and maintaining policies and procedures.
Recommends changes to policies and/or procedures to reduce operational risk.
Responsible for organization-wide standardization, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement efforts to fulfill business objectives.
Remains abreast to new product developments and current application enhancements.
Responsible for the creation of the annual operations department budget and strategic plan, maintaining ongoing variance reporting against plans and explaining any major variances.
Develops and maintains relationships with industry groups and organizations to keep informed of changes in federal and state banking regulations and ensures that changes are implemented in a timely fashion.
Communicates effectively, both orally and in written form, technical information with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
Conducts or coordinates team member training as needed.
Promotes and enhances the development of all team members including oneself, through continued education and training.
Consistently reviews all existing procedures for possible change, maintains and expands technical knowledge, attends seminars, or reads training materials and other materials for continuing education and shows initiative in learning banking trends.
Updates and corresponds with the bank's Compliance department or legal counsel to ensure all possible precautionary actions or measures are taken.
Assists all areas of the bank to coordinate inter- and intra-departmental activities and projects; resolves inquiries or issues relating to administrative functions; participates in various internal committees assigned by the Board of Directors.
Responds to inquiries or refers inquiries to the appropriate department or person, and any necessary follow through.
Has access to confidential information relating to clients and accounts, team member information including personal information, compensation, and performance, and information about the bank not readily available to the public.
Protects the privacy and confidentiality of clients, other team members, and work.
Provides oversight on internal audits and certifications of bank operations, documenting compliance with state and federal regulations and policies and procedures.
Directs operational strategic planning initiatives.
This includes fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources and partnerships.
Works with department management and regional representatives to identify and define business and system requirements for current and future operation implementations and enhancements.
Implements and monitors processes or products to reduce operational risk for the Bank.
Approves and oversees projects and project portfolio.
Works with the bank's internal project manager on key operational implementations and conversions.
Provide support to direct reports, Resource Team, and Regional Presidents.
Interact with auditors, compliance, and examiners to assist in Bank reviews and examinations.
Represent department on cross-functional teams by promoting and establishing strong, positive, and productive working relationships with all lines of business within the Bank.
Provides advanced operational knowledge to support bank staff.
Responsible for ensuring an exceptional experience is experienced by all bank clients.
Views internal team members as clients to ensure strong communication bank-wide.
Supervisory Responsibilities Acts as resource for Operations administrative staff by demonstrating extensive knowledge and enthusiasm about banking solutions and management objective.
Supports team members development by focusing on their innate talents and developing those into areas of strengths.
Listens to and advocates for team members to ensure their engagement needs are met.
Supports team member performance by establishing annual goals, setting clear expectations and providing continual coaching.
Creates a culture of accountability that celebrates progress as often as outcomes.
Builds relationships that create trust and allow two-way dialogue.
General Responsibilities Performs other bank-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Understands and complies with banking regulations by following bank policies and procedures.
Stays abreast of relevant regulations, current industry matters, and any changes implemented internally to ensure compliance.
Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in business, finance or information systems or related field with equivalent experience At least ten years' experience in the management of financial institution operations Extensive supervisory and managerial skills Extensive knowledge of overall Bank (specifically operations) sales promotion, operations, and policies Strong knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and Bank accounting policies and procedures Additional Qualifications Include Ability to exhibit our values; Think Big, Be People-Centered, Enable Great Things, and Bring your Best.
